Halloween Makeup

It’s that time of year again where it is practically legal to scare someone to death. Halloween is an occasion in which every one has a chance to dress and make up and become somebody or something they would like to be for a day – or night. You can dress up as Captain Hook or the Fairy Godmother, a Zombie or Vampire, Harry Potter or Edward Cullen. You can be a ghost by simply placing a large white sheet over your head and cut holes in them. Instant scare tactics! If Prom Night is a chance to dress to the nines, Halloween Night on the other hand, is a chance to put on make up and create the meanest face you can muster.

However, Halloween makeup is not your typical cosmetic. The chemicals in them are thick and heavy and possibly contain more oil-based solutions compared to your ordinary makeup. Before putting on that blood red goop on your face, it is recommended that you conduct a patch test. A patch test is a method of testing for skin allergies by smearing a small streak of makeup on your arm, and waiting for a few minutes if a rash will set in or not. This is to avoid or prevent future acne breakouts or allergic reactions to spread all over the skin. Having beet red face with ugly blemishes due to allergy is more unsightly and inconvenient, not to mention humiliating, than having a small rash on your arm. So doing a patch test is almost always essential.

Another way to prevent acne due to Halloween makeup is by checking the chemical additives in the product. The FDA has a complete list of all the chemicals and color additives that is ordinarily mixed with makeup. The same is also true of makeup which gives out fluorescent or luminescent colors. Fluorescent colors are neon bright hues while luminescent colors are makeup which glows in the dark. So if you plan to go shopping, avoid wasting money by checking the chemical additives first that are likely to give allergic reactions.

When you experience acne breakouts due to Halloween makeup, prevent it from spreading by using a gentle skin cleanser to wash your face regularly. If acne scars appear, acne light therapy is one treatment which helps heal those acne scars. Acne light uses laser rays in treating scars, by bouncing them on the skin’s surface to smoothen scarring due to acne.

Costume Hair

You don’t have to buy or hire expensive ready made Halloween costumes for your kids, you can have lots more fun coming up with cheap costume ideas from things you have around the house. Try these for size:

Pebbles Flintstone Costume

Take a chicken thigh bone and soak it in a weak bleach and eater solution for a few hours. Scrub the bone well with a nailbrush and soapy water. Dry in a slow oven.

Take one green t-shirt and cut a small slit in the front from the neck down. Using a black laundry marker, draw small arrows all over the t-shirt. Team this with blue shorts or a blue diaper to make Pebbles’ outfit.

Brush the child’s hair up onto the top of her head and secure in a bunch with a hair elastic. Thread the dry bone through the hair elastic.

Now you have one very cute Pebbles Flintstone!

CREEPY SPIDER

Boys love this costume. The basic costume is a black sleeved sweatshirt and sweat pants with black shoes. Put on black woollen gloves and make sure there is no flesh showing between gloves and sleeves. Cover the head with a black balaclava. You can paint the face black with child’s greasepaint.

Now take two pairs of opaque black tights and stuff them with newspaper. Tie the tights together and pin them to the back of the black sweatshirt.

A cute but scary touch is a pair of `goggle eye’ glasses with the eyeballs hanging off on springs.

Skunk

You will need the black sweats, balaclava and gloves from the spider costume. Using white acrylic paint draw a stripe down the center of the black balaclava and down the center back of the black sweatshirt. Cut a large flat tail out of a sheet of black card (or a piece of black fake fur for a great look!) and paint a white strip down the middle. Pin or sew this to the bottom of the sweat shirt at the back.

Attach claws to the fingertips of the gloves and the black shoes by cutting claw shapes out of cardboard and gluing them in place. Now hang your trick or treat collection bag on a pole so people can stand well back in case your `skunk’ decides to add his own touch of realism!

The Hunchback of Notre Dame

For the costume you will need a pair of green tights or sweat pants, and a medieval style over sized shirt. Scour the charity shops for something that looks right a brown man’s shirt will do.

To make the hunch, fill a back pack with crumpled paper and slip the arms through the straps then put the shirt on over the back pack.

For medieval boots, draw round the shape of the child’s foot into strong cardboard, drawing a long point out from the toes. Stuff the card soles into a pair of knee length black or brightly colored socks and curl the point of the cardboard up.

Sew bells on the costume and around the top of the socks.

The Head on a silver platter costume

Take a large cardboard box, and cut out holes for your child’s head and arms to fit through. Cut a matching head hole in a plastic table cloth and glue it over the box. Cut another matching head hole in a large circle of silver card stock (or the largest silver colored paper plate you can find, and glue it round the head hole in the box, over the tablecloth. Glue a few plastic fruits and vegetables to the plate.

With these cheap costume ideas, your child is sure to be the hit of Halloween!

Prop Halloween
How do I make a prop for my halloween costume?

I’m going to dress up like Hanson, the butler from Scary Movie 2. I want to make a replica of his little hand. I was wondering what I could make his hand out of? I don’t know anything about special effects. Thanks

LOL That’s GREAT!!! I loved Hanson! You can get a block of foam, trace your hand on the top and bottom to cut it out, then cut it down the height of your hand (length being finger to wrist and width being thumb to side of hand). Then you can file it down to the creepiness of his hand and paint it accordingly and shove a dowel where your wrist is so you can hold it.

Feel like spicing up your love life? Getting downright daring in the bedroom? How do so many couples do it? Through wearing sexy costumes!

Sexy costumes for adults are perhaps the most popular of all costumes – and are typically enjoyed right within the privacy of one’s own home. “Theater in the bedroom” is what many refer to as a woman (or a man) dressing in costume and living out various sexual fantasies. This style of clothing is often referred to as fantasy wear, and includes a variety of lingerie and costume ensembles.

Costumes are commonly referred to as a distinctive style of clothing worn to portray the wearer as a character other than their regular persona. Dressing in sexy costumes helps individuals and couples to embrace personalities that are usually much different from their own.

Fantasy Role Playing

Adult costumes make up a big part of the sexy and seductive world of role playing – an art in which couples act out a drama desired to provide sexual gratification.

Fantasy sexual role play is the ideal opportunity for adults to let go of all inhibitions, dress up, and simply have fun. Once the decision has been made on what sexy costume you or your partner will wear, it is time to let your creativity soar. Where do you want to be? What will you do? What props will you use to seduce and/or simply entertain your partner?

There are several props one can obtain in addition to the costume, which include wearable accessories, such as a pair of glasses, gloves, jewelry, hats, and more. Other accessories include handcuffs, rulers, brief cases, a baton—and the list goes on. The key to role playing is to live out your fantasy and have a blast while doing it.

From Naughty Nurse to Nice School Girl

Sexy adult costumes are worn for Halloween, Christmas, masquerades, and several other social occasions. They can also be used as simply objects of pure fun and amusement. Some of the most popular fantasy costume selections range from the classical and exotic ancient Roman or Greek god or goddess to the simple black and white French Maid ensemble. Other popular adult costumes include the nurse, belly dancer, police officer, cowgirl, cheerleader, school girl, cat, geisha, and a plethora of fictional characters. (Think Star Wars’ Princess Leia or Wonder Woman.)

In addition to the many costumes specially designed for women, there are several costumes available for men as well. These costumes include pirates, gladiators, pharaohs, knights, vampires, cowboys, prisoners, and more.

The variety of sexy costumes available in today’s market is virtually endless. Basically if one can imagine a costume, one can usually find it online to purchase within minutes.

Flash Light

There is no feeling quite like the one you get when you hear a wailing siren and look up to see flashing blue lights in your rear view mirror. The initial panic that you are about to get pulled over can make your driving erratic even if, as in most cases, the emergency vehicle simply wants to get by.

The police, fire service and ambulance are all permitted to use blue flashing lights and sirens when reacting to an emergency situation, they are also allowed to break certain road regulations and speed limits, including driving through red lights if the circumstances dictate. Other services are also permitted to use flashing blue lights including coastguard, mountain rescue bomb disposal and medical transplant services. Additionally a doctor answering an emergency call will use flashing green lights.

When you first see the blue flashing lights you must override the feeling of panic and stay calm, in most cases the emergency vehicle will just want to get past as quickly, safely and smoothly as possible. Avoid the temptation to slam on the brakes and pull up on the kerb, instead look ahead for a safe spot to pull over and then indicate so the following driver knows what you are doing.

Once the emergency vehicle has passed you by, resist the temptation to pull straight back out again, as it is possible that the emergency may require several vehicles and so other emergency services may also be following closely behind. Once they have passed take a few moments to reassess the traffic situation before pulling back out as the event may have left other roads users slightly alarmed or confused.

Often you will hear the siren before you see the emergency vehicle, and although siren technology has advanced beyond the basic two tone siren, it can still be difficult to locate where the sound is coming from. If this occurs at a junction then take extra time to try and locate the source of the sound before proceeding.

If you are being followed by a police car which requires you to stop, then they will normally do so by flashing their car headlight bulbs, indicating and pointing to you to pull over to the left. Remember you must still find a safe place to pull over and once stopped you should switch off the engine. Remain calm and courteous to the police officer at all times and be prepared to produce your driver’s license, certificate of insurance and any other relevant motoring documents.

Alongside the Police patrol cars you may now also see the Highways Agency Traffic Officers on motorways. Often their vehicles can be confused for police cars as they have similar reflective markings and blue lights on the roof. Remember, whilst a Traffic Officer cannot charge you with any motoring offences, including speeding, it is an offence not to comply with their directions.

Mask From

Natural Face masks are more than just goofy tricks that women try to get their “beauty rest.” They are an important part of skin care. It is recommended that you use a facial mask at least once a week. While it is not necessary to go overboard and wear one every night, a weekly facial mask session cannot only help your skin receive moisture, but it can also lessen skin disorders. Facial masks can be soothing or energizing, and the actions and rituals often involved with applying a facial mask can be an effective anxiety reliever.

A facial mask is generally defined as a salve that is applied to the face, much like smearing on cream. It is thick, and normally resembles clay. Many masks make use of clay or gel as a base, as these will stay in place when applied, and they are typically harmless to most skin types (although gel is used most for sensitive skin, as heavy clays irritate it). Masks are meant to cover the entire face and then rest in place for a few minutes before washing off. The materials in most masks are safe to be washed down the drain.

Most facial masks include both deep cleaning and moisturizing ingredients in the mask. This allows the pores in the face to be cleansed totally, getting rid of oily build up and trapped dirt. This can help reduce or even prevent pimples. Additionally, many masks help slough off dead skin. The dead top skin is inert and lusterless. When it is lightly removed, the mask brings the top layer of dead skin cells off with it. This leaves younger, healthier cells exposed as the face’s surface. This means tighter skin and a more radiant complexion. It can also reduce the look of fine lines and small wrinkles to carry out a regular facial mask.

Another reason that natural face masks are so trendy involves the soothing and relaxing motions associated with applying a facial mask. If you decide to have one applied on for relaxation as well as the benefits it provides for the skin on the face, then you can have a very enjoyable experience. In spas, these masks are applied with special therapies and often include a massage. You can give your own face a soft massage just prior to applying the mask, and if you are systematic about it, you can apply the mask in a way that is singularly soothing. All masks should be applied to a freshly bathed face, rinsed with warm water. This opens the pores and allows the mask to do its thing. Warm water is very calming and relaxing, and many people find this part of the application to be one of the more enjoyable stages.

Apply the mask in a circular motion until it coats the face. This is comforting and stimulating at the same time. Let the mask sit on your face for 15 to 20 minutes (although some are meant to be worn all night). Many women like to lie down and relax. The effect can be enhanced by the addition of candles or incense and some calming music. Finally, when it is time to rinse the mask, do so in cold water. This will help close the pores, protecting them against dirt and oil, and also energize your face.

Many people enjoy making their own facial masks from ordinary household products like bananas (for wrinkles), avocados, and honey (antibacterial). Butter can also be used as a remedy for dry skin. Other masks can be created using different compositions of clays, and different essential oils can be used for different skin types. Fruit purees also have different properties (for instance, strawberry can act as an alphahydroxy), and yogurt and milk can soften the skin. Oatmeal is very soothing, and most sensitive skin types can use masks of this sort. Adding rose petal powder can augment your fragrance without the need for perfume, while citrus fruit peel powder acts as an astringent.

When you decide to make use of natural face masks, you are sure to feel the good effects of it later down the road. And if you apply them once a week, you can help keep your face healthy-looking and your complexion brilliant with a healthy luminosity.
