What is the best Hair Dye to touch up really dark roots into light blond?
I usually get a “touch up” to make my dark brown (almost black) roots to a light blond. (Think of Carrie Underwoods color). I cant afford it this time around and I am willing to do it myself.
Is there a special brand that works the best ?
Can I have any Professional advice before I make a big mistake PLEASE:)
Please, please, please do not try this yourself! Because your roots are so dark, you will risk having orange roots if you do it on your own. Lightening hair as dark as yours can be tricky, even for a hairdresser!
Here’s my suggestion: Shop around! If you are 100% loyal to your hairdresser, that is wonderful! However, if you aren’t really settled on one hairdresser, check out some salons in your area and compare prices. Many salons offer a lower rate for root touch-ups, as opposed to paying the full price all over again. If you’d like to stick with your regular hairdresser, try mentioning that money is a little tight right now and see if there are any suggestions he/she has to make your color last longer. One option may be to add some lo-lites into your color. This will visually “break up” the contrast between your dark roots and your blonde color.
Good luck!

Easy-to-grow butterfly bushes attract multitudes of butterflies all day long.
Not many plants are as prolific blooming, fun or versatile as the Buddleia or Butterfly Bush. Also called Summer Lilac, it is the one plant that can be found in almost every butterfly garden around the world as it is a virtual butterfly magnet, attracting more butterflies than just about any plant growing in temperate climates. The beautiful flower panicles that appear for several months emit a sweet honey fragrance that will be a favorite of every butterfly in your neighborhood. This week we are featuring ‘White Ball’, a new, super-compact, white-flowering Buddleia davidii variety that vastly increases the number of places you can grow a butterfly bush.
‘White Ball’ – A New Dwarf Butterfly Bush ideal for the smaller garden.
Buddleia ‘White Ball’ is a dwarf butterfly bush that can only be described as cute! The bright silver-grey foliage grows into a tight ball, only 3 feet tall and wide, half to one-third normal size. Spikes of white flowers surround ‘White Ball’ all summer – attracting butterflies for miles around. ‘White Ball’ is the longest, most prolific blooming butterfly plant we have seen. If you remove the faded blooms, ‘White Ball’ will blossom continuously from June right up to killing frost. With its silvery foliage and pure white fragrant blooms, this new hybrid is a particularly nice addition to the night-blooming moon garden. Usually relegated to the border background, now you can enjoy a handsome butterfly bush in the foreground of your garden.
Buddleias have a reputation for being easy to grow and ‘White Ball’ is no exception. Plant in a location where it will have full sun and well-drained soil. Once established, it is surprisingly drought tolerant. Cut back the branch tips in the spring for a fuller bush and improved blooms. It does not require the severe annual pruning needed by other butterfly bushes. As with all Buddleias, ‘White Ball’ is never eaten by deer.

The little black dress is every woman’s best friend. But it’s easy to get caught in the trap of selecting which dress to buy and forgetting all about accessorising it until the last minute. With the usual round of Christmas parties coming up, it’s worth spending some time thinking about how you will make your black dress uniquely yours – as well as discovering how you can dress it up to be worn on more than one occasion.
Jewellery is an excellent way to finish off an outfit, and it doesn’t have to be the expensive kind either. Costume jewellery is often made to very high standards, and even if you don’t have pierced ears you can usually find clip on earrings to complete an outfit. Think about less obvious accessories too, such as a brooch or pin.
Choosing a specific colour to complement a black dress is a good way of making it look completely different. You might like to select a colour that matches your eyes, for example, or blends in with a purse or clutch bag that you already have. The type of engagement you are attending may dictate which colours would be more appropriate – a fun office party may suit brighter colours, whereas a more formal dinner may call for understated pastel shades to complete the look. Think about the kind of parties you are likely to be going to and buy your accessories accordingly.
Clever use of accessories can also make party dresses more affordable. Instead of feeling obliged to buy a brand new party dress for every occasion, you can buy one or two more expensive dresses and change their overall look by purchasing a wider range of accessories that you can mix and match as required.
Accessories don’t always have to be small either. A shawl or pashmina is a fairly inexpensive item to add to an outfit, it can look very elegant, and it will also solve the problem of having to find a coat that will go with the black dress you have already bought.
You might be thinking that solid colours are the best way to accessorise a party dress, but patterns can also work extremely well. They can also help to disguise the fact you are wearing the same dress, if you go to more than one party where some of the guests are the same.
In short, the little black party dress is a very versatile item to have in your wardrobe for the upcoming party season. But make sure you devote some of your shopping trip to buying all those accessories as well, in order to get the best out of your outfit. You can then be assured of having a festive season to remember.

Old root canal turns into hole, gums start turning black.?
A friend of mine required a root canal a while ago, and now her gums have turned black, and the tooth is more of a black hole. She wants to get it checked out, but has no health insurance or any rich relatives she can rely on. So the question is this, firstly, what could this possibly be? Second, how could she get this done for a reasonable price (sub $1000)? Are there any options at all?
Thanks for your time.
If the tooth was root therapied and then not rebuilt back to function and strength with a crown, then what you are describing is the tooth breaking down.
It may have done this past the point of no return and now needs to be extracted. If that’s the case you are looking at treatment well under 1K. After the extractions there are options available to replace the missing tooth, but get the infection and breakdown handled first.
The attending dentist can review all the replacement options if that is the case.
