Fashion Trends 2006
When it comes to this year's fashion trends, there are a variety of looks that women can wear at home, work, and play. Check out our choices for the hottest fashion trends for 2006 that you'll love to wear!
Skinny Jeans
Skinny jeans never go out of style. Whether you prefer low riders, boot cut, or straight leg, always choose jeans that are slim with a bit of stretch. To give the illusion of a more slender figure, go with a dark wash with fading down the front of the thighs. This will trick the eye and make your legs look supermodel slim. When it comes to footwear, don't ever pair tennis shoes or sneakers with jeans. Your best bet? Sexy high heels or polished boots in black or brown.
Lingerie Inspired Outerwear
Lingerie looks aren't just for the bedroom anymore. You'll notice boudoir inspired details on this year's outerwear. Too shy to wear a lacy camisole out of the house? Try a top that features bra- snap closure for a sexy fit, or pair that silky camisole with a fitted blazer and, of course, skinny jeans!
Faux Fur Trim
While real fur is totally passe, faux fur is all the rage. This fall and winter, go with romantic and luxurious faux fur trim around collars and cuffs. One wild look? Black paired with faux leopard trim. Keep accessories minimal with this look and keep the glamour amped up with classic red lipstick.
Red Hot Color
Red is the color of 2006. Make a statement with cherry red tops and dresses. To balance the striking power of red, pair it with casual denim or basic black. For cool skin tones with pink undertones, go with a blue-based cherry red. If you have warm skin undertones, try a yellow-based tomato red. It's tempting to match lips and nails to clothing, but that can often be overkill. Keep lips and tips classic in nude shades like caramel and shell pink when wearing red clothing.
Mad for Plaid
Bring a Scottish influence to your closet with a little plaid. For a trendy, youthful look, try a flouncy plaid skirt with black tights, black boots and a sleek, fitted black top. Or, go with a classic plaid blazer over a fitted tank with slender jeans or straight leg trousers.
