Fashion for Redheads

If you're lucky enough to have red hair, you may already realize how eye-catching and alluring redheads can be. However, choosing what to wear can be tricky for redheads, whether they're born red or color their hair. Unfortunately, there are certain colors that redheads should avoid. However, there are also a lot of colors that look stunning on redheads. Read on for our picks for the best colors and fashion trends for redheads:

Black: Black is a classic color that looks absolutely striking against bright red hair and alabaster skin. If you're a natural redhead, then you're probably naturally pale. Black accents your skin and hair, but to avoid a ghostly pallor, try doing your makeup in rich earth tones like bronze and peach and warm up your complexion with gold jewelry.

Ivory: Ivory is another classic neutral that looks stunning with red hair. The creaminess plays off pale skin better than pure white, and allows the focus to be on your scarlet locks. Accent a feminine ivory top with a romantic choker necklace suspended on a black velvet cord, and add color to your face with a cherry red lipstick.

Green: Because green is a contrasting color compared to red, it looks fantastic on redheads. All shades from pale celery to rich emerald looks stunning on crimson haired girls, even more so if you're blessed with green eyes.

Baby Blue: Pale blue is another great contrast against red hair and looks gorgeous on ladies with blue eyes. Whether your hair is strawberry blonde, auburn or flaming red, you can pull off a powdery pale blue.

What to Avoid:

Pink: Pink is classically known as a bad choice for redheads. And usually, it is. The only exception the rule is if your hair is auburn and features rich brown tones. If you must wear pink, choose warm pink such as salmon to offset cool skin tones common to redheads.

Red: Another poor choice for redheads is red. Red just doesn't offer the contrast that flame haired girls need in their fashion choices. So stay away from red clothing, with the exception of deep burgundy or rich maroon.
